Welcome back everyone to ON for Sunday July 3, 2022.

This week we look at some upcoming local actions in support of abortion/healthcare access, A fundraiser for MISSION today Sunday July 3 at the Purple House from 12-5pm, and some brief municipal agenda updates. Finally we’ll share info about an EAA neighborhood site, Sylvan Park, which will be having a park clean-up day organized by the city on July 24.

RAISE THE ROOF! A FUNDRAISER EVENT FOR MISSION

Today July 3 from 12-5pm there will be a fundraiser event for MISSION at its Purple House location at 3501 Stone School Rd.  There will be art and baked good for sale. Come enjoy some music and food, admission only $2 or a nonperishable food item.

MISSION is a local nonprofit based in Ann Arbor helping unhoused individuals meet their immediate needs for shelter and other life sustaining resources while working their ways through our underfunded housing systems of care. This is accomplished through partnership and work in solidarity between housed, unhoused and free autonomous individuals living among us.

MUNICIPAL AGENDAS

Not much worth writing about on the agenda of #A2Council this week. Wait, did we miss anything?

Here’s something of note during the working session of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners. Staff will discuss “general government and support services.” There are no attached presentation documents as of yet posted here. But keep checking!

There are no meetings listed for Ypsi City Council this week.

The next Ypsi Twp Trustees meeting is on July 19. Here’s an agenda item that might require some advocacy and questions for trustees to consider before contracting for an armed officer in a school.

Love A Park Day Sunday July 24 10am-12noon @ Sylvan Park

Finally today on ON, we share an opportunity for fellow EAArs to show up at this park for activities centered on clean-up etc. You can join us even if you’re not living in East Ann Arbor😉 The park has pedestrian entrances at Burton [northmost point] and Eli Rds, and Darrow Dr.
